Introduction

The Family Members List and the Family Tree are designed for you to explore, and to give you a detailed view of the Odaffer Family.  Please e-mail any additions or changes to help keep them current.

The list of Family Members and the Family Tree will enable you to see that you are a descendant of Heinrich Odoerfer (Germany, 1560), and also help you see specifically where you fit in this extraordinary family.

If you want to go into more detail, the descriptions 1-16 below serve to help you identify into what generations and branches of the family you or your ancestor fit.  Here is how to do it.

  • Search your name in the list of Family Members, and see where you (or your ancestor) are located in the Family Tree.
  • Find the person or persons listed in italics in one of the items 1-16 below that are nearest your location in the tree.  That will identify you or your ancestor’s generation and branch of the family.

 

1. Ancestors in Germany  (View the portion of the tree starting with Heinrich Odoerfer and ending with Johann Wolfgang Odoerfer.  This portion shows our line of ancestors who lived in Germany.)

2. The First U.S. Generation- Children of Johann Wolfgang (John) (View the portion of the tree starting with Johann Wolfgang Odoerfer, and ending with Margaret Odoerfer.   This portion shows the spouses and children of Johann Wolfgang (John) Odoerfer, our ancestor who links our family to Germany)

3. The Second U.S. Generation-  Children of Johann(John)’s daughters

(View the portion of the tree beginning with Anna Marie Odoerfer and ending with Sarah Odoerfer. This portion of the tree shows the early descendants of Johann’s daughters. )  

4.  The Second U.S. Generation – Children and Grandchildren of Johann’s son Henry (View the portion of the tree beginning with Henry Odoerfer and ending with Joseph Odaffer.  This portion of the tree shows the early descendants of Johann’s son Henry.  A large number of  Odaffers in the U.S. today are descendants of Henry. )

5.  The Second U.S. Generation- Children and Grandchildren of Johann’s son John B. (View the portion of the tree beginning with John B. Odoerfer and ending with Almeda Odaffer.  This portion of the tree shows the early descendants of Johnann’s son John B.)
